Bringing Baby Home Workshops

The skills from the Bringing Baby Home Program can be taught in a variety of ways, based on your learning style. Most couples benefit from attending an in person workshop in an intimate setting with other couples. Most couples describe it as a mini couples retreat. They also can benefit from doing a combination of self-study and in person coaching/counseling with Angela. Couples can follow up with phone or email support, which allows for flexibility in a couple's life and work schedule.

Benefits Of  A Workshop:

There is so much learning and change in the first year, and research shows that the program is most effective when couples take the course within the first year of their new baby's life.

The Bringing Baby Home Program can also be tailored to couples who are bringing a second child into their home and have concerns on how growing their family by another child will impact their relationship.

Postpartum Marital Challenges Can Include:

  • Relationship satisfaction drops significantly for two-thirds of couples
  • Conflict within the relationship and hostility towards each other increased dramatically
  • Emotional intimacy decreases
  • Exhaustion sets in
  • Passion, sex, and romance declines steadily
  • Postpartum mood disorders affect both partners
  • Body image concerns increase
  • Identity issues with new roles as a parent

The good news is, that prevention and forming a postpartum plan, similar to a birth plan, can help decrease these. Angela teaches skills to help you through this transition to parenthood while preserving your sanity! Research shows that counseling, attend a workshop or hiring a postpartum doula, can prevent escalating hostility, postpartum depression, relationship dissatisfaction, and positively influence baby's development!
